Controls/Automation Engineer

We are currently seeking an innovative Controls Engineer to join our team. We will want to hear your ideas when we brainstorm for the best solutions for our customers.

We design our hardware schematics in AutoCad Electrical and primarily utilize the Allen Bradley ControlLogix platform in our designs. We are certified integrators for ABB, Fanuc, KUKA, Kawasaki, and Motoman robotics. Typical technologies in our designs include: Robotics, 2D & 3D Vision Guidance, Motion Control, Distributed Ethernet I/O, Custom Visual Basic applications, On Machine I/O, HMI, etc..

After the design has been released for build, you will be answering questions from the shop during the manufacturing and assembly process of the equipment, and within a month after you complete your design, you will see your machine begin to come together on our shop floor. Once the equipment is fully assembled, you will team up with one of our talented mechanical engineers to debug and prove out the equipment in our facility that closely simulates our customer’s manufacturing process.

Once we ship the equipment, you will have the opportunity to provide on-site installation supervision, troubleshooting, and commissioning in the field at our customer’s facility for the equipment you designed. At the successful conclusion of the Project, you will have the personal satisfaction and rewarding experience of seeing your design from conception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate controls systems concepts that utilize new technologies
  • Create electrical & pneumatic schematics in AutoCad Electrical
  • Generate bill of materials using in house ERP database
  • Design and configure industrial Ethernet networks
  • Develop PLC & HMI programs
  • Develop Visual Basic/C++ applications
  • Develop/Integrate SQL databases
  • Startup/Debug equipment
  • Setup and teach robots
  • Assist with in house customer buy off
  • Supervise on-site installation and startup
