In 1985, Raymond Gatta started designing automated equipment out of his home in Aurora, Ohio. As a degreed mechanical engineer from Ohio University, he became an innovator in the automotive industry, creating more reliable and practical automated line tracking methods that were ahead of its time.
1998
rpGatta Moves Into New and Current Building
rpGatta built a new building with an 8,000 sqft engineering office and 20,000 sqft shop. This is still the building that rpGatta resides in today.
2001
L.E.T. Partnership
rpGatta becomes L.E.T.’s exclusive North American distributer and provider of headlamp aiming systems.
2004
Second Generation Joins rpGatta Full Time
Ray’s Daughters, Kelly and Erin, both join rpGatta. They both have engineering degrees and are currently working as a Director of Procurement and Proposal Engineering Manager, respectively.
2018
1st Major Building Expansion
In 2018, rpGatta expended the shop from 20,000 sqft to 30,000 sqft to accommodate building more equipment.
2019
Assembly Line Development and Integration
rpGatta expanded its capabilities to design and build entire assembly lines.
2020
2nd Major Building Expansion
In 2020, despite the pandemic, rpGatta expanded its shop from 30,000 sqft to 45,000 sqft and the engineering department from 8,000 sqft to 11,000 sqft.
2021
Land Purchase
rpGatta purchased the 7.5 acre lot behind the current building to allow for future expansions.
